The Other Way into Town is based on an idea that Mandie had when her children were little.  Walking up the steep hill into town,  India Mouse asked if they could go in the opposite direction to avoid the hill.  Mandie said 'no' but the idea was in her head.... what if.... the other way of course would lead all around the world to end up in the same town.  Years later, when India Mouse and Willow Star were grown up, Mandie finally wrote this delightful short story about a worldwide adventure to collect Christmas presents taking the route surely less travelled!
 
The Other Way into Town est basé sur une idée que Mandie avait quand ses enfants étaient petits. En montant la colline escarpée vers la ville, India Mouse a demandé s'ils pouvaient aller dans la direction opposée pour éviter la colline. Mandie a dit "non" mais l'idée était dans sa tête... et si... l'autre chemin bien sûr conduirait tout le monde à se retrouver dans la même ville. Des années plus tard, quand India Mouse et Willow Star ont grandi, Mandie a finalement écrit cette charmante nouvelle sur une aventure mondiale pour collecter des cadeaux de Noël en empruntant la route sûrement la moins fréquentée !
