The book follows a little girl, her brother and their puppy Leo, for one day in the summer holidays. The children decide to go on a picnic and have to choose between the forest, the playground or the beach. They decide to go to the beach and spend their day flying a kite and splashing in the sea. The day is almost spoiled by the puppy Leo who eats all their picnic, but an ice cream seller comes to the rescue and the day is saved. There’s a typically English feel to the water colour illustrations. Subject = Summer - beach. This book has a vocabulary center page in each language.
